THE GLOBAL ELECTRONICS RELIABILITY MANAGER position...
is responsible for all aspects of reliability associated with electronic controls installed in client products. In this position, the successful candidate will lead electronics reliability engineers who are resident in each of the client regions throughout the world.
Responsibilities Drive reliability growth in electronic controls. Reduction of warranty and post-warranty failures. Validation testing (test to pass) of new and modified designs and manufacturing processes. Reliability testing (test to failure) to determine the products infant mortality, useful life, and wear out failure rates. Development of reliability test methods, test conditions, and sampling plans for reliability & validation testing. Develop reliability & validation testing plans, as well as, burn-in/run-in requirements for manufacturing, if required. Reliability prediction of electronics system and components using statistical methods based on component failure rates, testing data, and field data. Coordination with test labs in scheduling, performing, and evaluating the testing. Procurement of reliability test equipment as required. Statistical analysis of testing data to determine field failure rates. Develop Design for Reliability requirements. Evaluate designs for Design for Reliability requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications 10+ years experience working in Electronics Reliability. 5+ years experience in engineering management. B.S. in a technical discipline, preferably electronics, advanced degree highly desired. ASQ CRE preferred. Automotive and/or industrial electronics reliability experience. Electronic assembly manufacturing experience. Semiconductor fabrication and/or assembly experience. Strong reliability statistics knowledge. Six Sigma training / certification highly desired. Superior influencing and communication skills needed to build credibility and trust in inter- and intra-regional relationships. Ability to manage/lead and work effectively in a complex, global organization and maintain a standard of world class process excellence. Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to interact as a lead player. Strong analytical problem solving skills. Strong decision making skills. Exceptional multi-tasking ability.
