Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Engineer opening in our Electronic Controls Technology function.


Today, you might be executing the design of a new product utilizing innovative technology.  Tomorrow, you may be providing technical information to various functions and suppliers in the morning and spend the afternoon meeting with marketing about product changes to meet consumer requirements.

The Algorithm Design Engineer works with many functions so top notch interpersonal skills in addition to technical depth regarding electronics is necessary.

What You Will Do

Work in the rapidly growing field of advanced electronic controls to create and deliver customer-focused solutions to the marketplace
Design, develop and implement advanced algorithms that provide a significant competitive advantage and support key customer requirements
Investigate the latest algorithm and sensor technologies and communicate and leverage the best available solutions throughout the company
Translate sensor and algorithm specifications to modular embedded software
Develop software applications that support modular reuse
Implement algorithms in C/C++ for the smart control of electronic dynamics
Participate actively in the definition of the software architecture for algorithms
Support the creation of models for simulation of electronic systems to support key customer requirements
Provide technical contributions, leadership, consulting and project administration both as an individual contributor and in a team effort. Key interface within client to both internal and external development teams related to algorithm software
Apply Six Sigma tools and logical problem solving methodologies
Work in an environment where diversity of people, thoughts, opinions, and ideas are valued and encouraged
Develop a strategic architecture for the current and next generation control systems to support modular reuse
Use model-based design and Operation Modes and Effects Analysis diagrams to drive the design of control system modules
Requirements
What You Need To Succeed

B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, M.S. preferred
Minimum 4 years experience in algorithm design and development of embedded software
Strong critical thinking skills, including knowledge of Six-Sigma tools and methodologies
In-depth computer skills related to the specific needs of position
High level of self-motivation and drive to work in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of Robust Product Design process
Good understanding of project management and stage-gate development process
Excellent project management and communication skills
Outstanding inter-personal skills with the specific ability to interact as a leader or follower
Proven critical thinking and diagnostic abilities
Exposure to Six Sigma methodology with certification a plus
Capability to work across functional and geographic boundaries to solve problems
Ability to travel domestically or abroad
Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 25 lbs., including push/pull of 150 lbs.
Experience with system simulation tools is a plus
