Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Engineering Manager opening to drive our North American Region within the Controls & Electronics Organization.


The Senior Manager, Controls & Electronics will lead the NA Region in new product design and support electronics, and participate as a member of the global C&E leadership team.  This person will be responsible for building, leading and managing the NA staff to deploy electronic modules into client products.
Work interactively with C&E engineers and managers, product development engineers and managers, product laboratories, agency personnel, suppliers and others as necessary to achieve goals.
Lead management activities to generate designs for controls, including creation of engineering drawings, generation of software, and fabrication of prototypes.
Perform quality control and production support activities such as review of key work products, execution of required tests, supplier coordination activities and contribution of successful application in the assembly plant for both internal and external designs.
Enhance competencies in crucial engineering areas that support C&E cost, quality, time to market and innovation goals.
Identify and lead the implementation of process improvement opportunities, both within the site and within the global C&E organization.
Maintain budgets and develop cost estimates for projects.
Schedule resources including personnel and equipment to meet aggressive development schedules.
Participate in design reviews, FMEA development, returned product analysis and other quality control processes.
Utilize Robust Design methods.
Develop and standardize product development methods.
Implement strategies that move the organization toward its vision.
Drive change across a global organization.
Drive growth through operational excellence, innovation and consumer
Requirements
What You Need to Succeed
BSEE or other technical degree with significant electrical engineering exposure (MSE or equivalent preferred)
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, both as a leader and a follower.
Demonstrated ability to project manage internal and external to the organization and get work done through others including vendors.
Minimum 10 - 15 years experience in an appropriate technology field; 5 years management experience
The proven ability to develop a vision, implement strategy, and drive change.
Outstanding leadership skills, with the ability to drive extraordinary results while attracting and developing top technical talent
Dynamic self-starter providing innovative thinking and strong decision making
Ability to travel and meet with other client or supplier operations
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Budget management experience; staff size; headcount; mix of competencies
Need to have exceptional talent intake/management skills
International experience - ability to manage regional delivery through global leverage of internal assets and external technology partners
Highly effective in a strong-matrix organizational structure which emphasizes teaming across org chart boundaries versus direct line-of-sight control
Effective cross-functional collaborator with key process partners in Category engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing
Expertise in process-oriented new product development methodologies including use of Project Management tools and software
Balance of real-time controls/embedded systems experience with electronics hardware development experience
Knowledge of world-class design tools, development processes
High volume product manufacturing experience recommended
Consumer, automotive, factory automation, test instrumentation electronics experience
