The Electric Motor System team at client is looking for an outstanding Senior Electrical Engineer  and a Junior Electrical Engineer who will be responsible to develop advanced motor control technology for client electrical products.


Brief Overview

This Senior Engineer will be responsible for developing advanced motor control algorithms with embedded technology using Micro-controller and DSP processors and develop innovative system solutions for all products applications. This person will join with the team to involve developing and improving breakthrough motor embedded controls, software, hardware, interface, etc. for technology development in research as well as product development for production. This person shall be well educated and be knowledgeable to motors and advanced drives theory, simulation tools and shall have extensive experience in the application and implementation of digital signal processor (DSP). Being with a global company, this person will work at an international environment. In addition, it is desired that this person has been trained in the Operational Excellence (six sigma) principles. Essential Functions:

Analysis, design, simulation, and prototyping of electronic controls for  electrical drive system applications that provide innovation, high value and industry leadership. Areas of direct involvement include:

A.      Research, design, simulation and prototyping of embedded system control electronics for products including analog to digital and digital to analog conversion, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and hardware/software interfacing.
B.      Development of advanced algorithms for the automatic control of electrical product  dynamics, its real-time implementation in fixed-point microprocessor architectures and integration with the drive system hardware.
C.      Develop innovative tools such as motor control user interfaces to allow the transfer of new drive system technologies to other technical groups within the company. Provide technical contributions, leadership, consulting and project administration both as an individual contributor and in a team effort.
D.      Investigate the latest embedded control and drive system design technologies and communicate the best available throughout the company.


Additional Responsibilities:

Contribute to efforts for integration of Six-Sigma/Operational Excellence into the design process for electrical drive systems. Monitor the embedded motor control and semiconductor industries for components and techniques applicable to our products. Establish, plan and conduct design development and coordinate for test programs or components, systems, projects and processes. Maintain working relationships with other company business units, strategic suppliers, and external experts such as Universities and Consultants.

In this position, you'll have the opportunity to:

Qualifications
What you need to succeed in this position:
M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Ph.D. degree is more desired.
A strong in-depth understanding of motor technologies and digital motor controls
Extensive experience in the implementation of AC induction motors controls based on DSP platform controllers.
Skills with variety of advanced simulation tools such as Matlab/Simulink
Minimum 5 years experience in motor drive development
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
In-depth computer skills related to the specific needs of position
Good people skills, with the specific ability to interact as a leader
Dynamic self-starter with admirable management skills
Ability to travel for projects.
